It's not the "get Taira a title shot" business,  but don't tell me the ufc is in the bussiness of delivering good quality cards every week with top to bottom fights that are as entertaining as Taira vs Van that's opening the prelins. They are in the bussiness of creating young stars from diferent countries with huge fanbases to make more money.

But sure dude. The mass opnion and views do not matter in a entertainment business i guess. It's all about what I as a single individual remember/belive in.

I belive Taira wins this fight but even if he does, and it was an amazin  fight, i stand on my Belief that this was a stupid move by the ufc.

Don’t want the UFC to become boxing, I like how the best fight the best, it’s one of the major reason UFC been successful

@VicStrk
You seem a bit agitated with me. I mean no disrespect, but you keep putting words in my mouth. I never said every single card is great with amazing fights.

I also seem to find flaw in your logic. Taira and Van do have large international fanbases as you said, and that is why a lot of people will watch this fight and the UFC will "make more money".

I respect that you believe it's a stupid decision, but I never argued against that. My point is that you have already said in your mind that Josh Van "could possible win and kill Taira's hype". You have the freedom to give however much 'hype' you want to whoever you want. If you decide to take Taira's away with a loss, that's on you

Alright.  👍

I've been thinking about Costa vs Strickland for some time now and the only two ways that I see Costa winning is if he takes strickland out in the early rounds or if he is able to mess up strickland's face and win a decision on visible damage after surviving the later rounds. Strickland has already lost decisions in the past because of bad optics and not having any power in his punchs.

I also think Costa's kicks are going to be very important in this fight and I hope he kicks more then he did against Rob. If he predominantly only uses his hands/boxing against strickland when he already is not likely to shot for a single TD then that's just a bad gameplan.

Aside from the Mickey Gall fight, this whole card seems pretty stacked. I generally think Ailin Perez is fairly annoying, but apparently her and Edwards absolutely cannot stand each other so maybe we will get a little drama.

They got into a physical altercation before Perez’s last fight. Edwards sucker punched her in the PI & gave her a black eye, ufc knows what they’re doing with this one

Damn, I was really looking for Fluffy x Dolidze. Maybe now Bo will have his chance against Flully, and I hope they find someone to replace him against Dolidze here.

I think the UFC will become similar to boxing with the matchmaking at some point.

Predictions: 11 of 12 Pending   |   Tied for 1st with 3141 others

Makhachev vs. Poirier
Islam Makhachev, SUB, R2
Islam is winning this fight, but I think people are sleeping on Dustin’s chances… Islam is chinny and more comfortable on the feet than Khabib, he isn’t gonna shoot a takedown desperately. Dustin has a shot to catch him with a big punch just like Volk in the first fight.

Strickland vs. Costa
Sean Strickland, DEC
I think you’d have to be crazy to pick Paulo after these two guys last performances… the reach and distance control of Strickland will pull through and give him a UD.

looking at LW divison - Oliveira turned down Gamrot callout and I understand him, Gamrot did not beat anyone from TOP 5, his fight against Arman was at least a draw.

Dustin will probably retire after this fight. Islam will fight Tsarukyan. Oliveira already beat Justin and Chandler, so who is next for him? Is he waiting for Conor?

@graag
Islam is good striker, his defence is super, I think we are sleeping on him too, he can easily KO Dustin too.
but he will not stand and bang, he will clinch and take him down. The choke will be in 2nd R I agree with you.

in Volk fight Islam was def dehydrated. The only fact we use to name Islam "chinny" is Adriano Martins". And that's it.

@Vandal
Yea, Islams defense is great, I just think people are underrating Dustin’s chances a bit. Most people picking Dustin are joking and saying he’s gonna submit him with Guillotine, so I mentioned it in my post because I don’t have anything to say about Islam winning that hasn’t been said.
